Implant Team

Robert and David our implant experts together have over 25 years experience performing implant procedures – it's the core focus of their daily work. The technology has evolved over 40 years to become the foundation of restorative dentistry and both Robert and David are at the forefront of the science and its application. Below you will find a brief introduction to implants.

What are Implants?

Implants help replace missing teeth, either one, several or across the whole mouth. They are small titanium screws attached to your jawbone that act as artificial roots. Titanium is exceptionally strong and well accepted by the body; the surface is specially prepared to allow bone to naturally grow into the surface of the implant creating a strong and natural bond that can last a lifetime. A crown, bridge or denture can be attached to the implant.

What are the benefits?

The results feel and look like natural teeth. Implants are ideal for those suffering speech or eating problems from tooth loss, or those with ill-fitting dentures causing pains, sores or irritation. Dental implant restorations support the structure and integrity of your jaw, improving how your face looks for those suffering facial structure deterioration from tooth loss.

The benefit of implants over traditional crown and bridge work is eliminating the need to grind down adjacent healthy teeth as the implant provides all the support needed. For patients with multiple teeth requiring replacement, implants are the optimal solution.

Implants represent the most effective stable solution for replacement teeth, allowing you to eat, smile and speak with total confidence.

What’s involved?

The methods vary depending on individual requirements. Comprehensive initial assessment will allow an appropriate bespoke plan to be formulated for you, this may involve the taking of x-rays and preliminary moulds of your teeth. Following assessment a written estimate and detailed treatment plan will be sent to you so that you have time to consider the options available to you before commencing any treatment.

Modern techniques now shorten the time required to complete implant treatment. As soon as an implant is integrated the crown, bridge or denture can be fitted to it.

Your dentist will be able to give information relating to your specific dental needs, and of course Robert or David are available to answer any questions and explain treatment plans.
